Energy diagnosis

A tremendous opportunity for companies that want to achieve substantial savings, lower energy consumption and reduce their environmental impact

What is the energy diagnosis

The energy audit represents the “Company’s energy identity card ”. Its objective is the identification of waste or management anomalies, the definition of priorities and the quantification of energy saving opportunities from a cost-benefit point of view.

A team of experienced professionals for your company

The effectiveness of the energy diagnosis allows you to determine the inefficiencies and criticalities present in the production process.

The reduction of energy consumption passes through a systematic procedure aimed at acquiring an adequate knowledge of the actual energy consumption profile and of the company EnPIs, with the aim of favoring a more conscious and rational use of energy, eliminating waste, through the adoption of policies for the correct use of energy.

Our EGE certified consultants (Expert in Energy Management) according to the UNI CEI 11339 standard accompany the company in the energy diagnosis process, through:

INTERNAL ENERGY AUDIT

MODELING OF THE COMPANY REALITY

CALCULATION OF PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

PROPOSALS FOR IMPROVEMENT INTERVENTIONS

The energy diagnosis procedure

Internal energy audit

The energy audit involves the acquisition of general company data, consumption data, the analysis of supply contracts for all incoming energy carriers, the plant technologies adopted and the significant energy uses in terms of use and management.

Modeling of the company reality

Construction of the corporate energy structure which, through a structured multi-level path, defined and compliant with the UNI CEI 16247 standard, allows for a complete and exhaustive picture of the functional areas of the company.

Calculation of performance indicators

Definition of the consumption baseline, calculation of the energy performance indicators (EnPI) for each energy vector entering the company and for each functional area, comparison of the same with the target ones representative of the market average, where available.

Proposals for improvement interventions

The diagnosis is completed with the drafting of the diagnosis report which contains the identification of a virtuous path, in terms of energy efficiency interventions, such as to reduce energy requirements for the same activity / service and, therefore, create the conditions for a greater competitiveness of the products and / or services provided.

Obligation of diagnosis according to the law

The legislative decree 4 July 2014 n. 102 made the energy audit mandatory for large companies (large companies) and for those with high energy consumption (energy-intensive companies), renewing this obligation every 4 years.

Energy-intensive companies

Companies with high energy consumption are those with electricity consumption equal to or greater than 1.0 GWh, with an incidence of the energy cost on turnover and / or on VAL (Gross Added Value) respectively greater than 2% and / or 20% , registered in the annual list established at the Cassa for Energy and Environmental Services (CSEA).

Big businesses

Companies with at least 250 or more employees and turnover exceeding € 50 million or a balance sheet exceeding € 43 million.

Until July 19, 2016, energy audits can be conducted by all the subjects listed in article 8, paragraph 1 (energy service companies, energy management experts or energy auditors) even if they do not have certifications issued under accreditation. . Starting from July 19, 2016, the diagnoses must be performed by persons certified by accredited bodies, pursuant to Article 8, paragraph 2 of the decree.

ISO 50001 energy management systems

The energy diagnosis procedure is the prerequisite for the implementation in the company of an ISO 50001 certified energy management system, which allows you to establish a scheme and processes necessary to improve your energy performance by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and other impacts related to the use and consumption of primary energy.

Operational monitoring of EMS energy consumption

The energy diagnosis process involves the development of the operational monitoring project of energy consumption for the analysis of company energy performance. The data is collected and recorded through the energy management system platform, which is able to quantify the use of energy and the respective performance indices defined during the energy analysis phase.

What are the advantages of the ISO 50001 Energy Management System

The adoption of an energy management system, compliant with the UNI CEI EN ISO 50001 standard, allows to optimize the use of company energy resources with a process of continuous improvement of energy performance, exempting the company from the obligation of Diagnosis. Energy conducted in compliance with Legislative Decree 102/2014 and UNI CEI EN 16247.

It represents the concrete demonstration of its commitment to eco-sustainability, helping to strengthen its accountability in terms of energy management and energy efficiency.
